Everything from Performances to Olympics to Valentine's Day

We have been blessed with lots of "Let it Go" performances around here.  Nora has about three Elsa dresses that she rotates and does her performances in.  She adds a cape and takes it off and throws it on the ground during "the cold never bothered my anyway" part.  I do have to say it is pretty entertaining.
During this particular performance she was using a dog bone as her microphone.

Hannah and Eve were putting on a show up on the stage area.  When I walked up I noticed that Nora had a ton of Evan's hair gel in her hair and I got onto her.....she said "but Nora is Donald Trump in our performance".  I could not stop laughing.

Evan got a little spiked hair too

Scott took the kids to Target and sent me this picture.....they kids really thought I believed that he bought all of those things for them :)

Thankfully Nora is still a great eater and eats just about everything I cook, but she does have some strange combinations.
Here she was eating a Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich with ketchup

Evan's preschool was celebrating the Winter Olympics with a competition of their own.  Last week some of the classes competed against each other with some ice skating, ice hockey and a few other games.  Evan was so excited for this and wanted to work out that week to get ready for the Olympics.
It was really cute.
His class represented Canada.  He was supposed to wear a white shirt and a few days before he told me "since I am so messy and always get toothpaste and food on my shirt, maybe I should keep the white shirt off until after I eat that morning".  Haha!  We should probably do that every morning, because by 8am his shirt already looks like he has worn it for weeks
All the kids got a little medal at the end.  It was a super fun event for the kids.  We have been watching a lot of Olympics around here.

We were working on class Valentine's last week and Nora said "I know how to spell my name.  A-T-R-X".  Every time she said it she used a different combination of letters.
Hannah filled out a bunch of Valentine grams at school
We had a little Valentine's celebration at home on Valentine's Day.  Everybody got to make their own pizza and we decorated the table and had a little gift for the kids.
I asked the kids why do we celebrate Valentine's Day and Nora eagerly said "I know.  I know.  It's Jesus birthday".

Hannah wore this same Valentine's outfit when she was 3.  I love seeing Nora in Hannah's old clothes.  Brings back a lot of memories.

We played Googley Eyes the other night and this girl just look so funny in those glasses.

Evan is still obsessed with playing Monopoly.  He played an intense game with Simon :)

Picture Catch Up

Since this blog serves as our scrapbook I always like to have all of my favorite pictures on her.  I recently printed all blog posts from last year into a book and the kids love to go through it and read and look at pictures.

Well, I realized I never posted pictures from New Years.  So here they are.  Happy New Year.  We celebrated and Muffy and Ryan's house and the kids were our entertainment for the night.  We were all in bed by 11pm, but Hannah and I watched the ball drop on TV and made it until midnight.

I can already see this happening again in less than 10 years (what?????) at KU.  These two could be trouble together.
See the entertainment was the kids dancing :).  I love to watch them grow up together.

Hannah is letting her hair grow out and she is loving braids now
Hannah has been asking for another brother.  She has been quite persistent.  She writes notes like these....
We were at Walmart one day and she said "Come on mom let's walk through the baby section.  Just think about how fun it would be to have another baby in the house".  Ha!  She is working it hard.

The girls wanted a picture with their Morgan.  All three absolutely love Morgan!

We made it to the ice skating rink one time this season (they are already closed now).
It was quite the work out for me to skate with Evan and Nora.  Evan improved a ton during the hour and was able to go on his own after a while.

Scott was out of town again and we did our traditional games and hot chocolate and they get to make pallets on the floor and sleep in our bedroom.  We do this every time Scott travels (either games or puzzles) and the kids look forward to it.
We had fun with Twister and made up our own rules.

Nora asked me to take a picture of her morning hair and her pig tails
We are going through round 2 of Frozen mania at our house (round 1 was 4 years ago with Hannah).  Nora is loving Elsa and "Let it go".  Alexa can finally understand Nora, so she asks her to play "Let it go" a hundred times a day.  Nora will pick up anything she can find to use it as a microphone and sing along.  She usually stands in front of our wine fridge to be able to see her own reflection.

We went up to Lawrence, KS for Evan's birthday and watched KU play KState
It was a really close game and KU pulled out a last second win.  This is how Hannah watched the last few minutes, because she was so nervous.
Nora was padding her back and telling her that everything is OK

It's always interesting to see what kind of selfies I find on my phone

We had some snow a few weeks and the kids were excited to go outside and play.  After it took me 30min to get them bundled up they played in for about 5 minutes and were done.  I should have known.
I do wish we will get one more "real" snow, but I am so ready for it to warm up.

This is her "Look I am Taylor Swift" look

Jenny sent me this picture of Dave with a beer mug that my dad gave him.
I love it when friends send me pictures that either my dad is in or a memory they have of him.  It makes me happy.

Evan had a birthday party at Chuck e Cheese (I know, I know it's every parents dream).  He loved every minute of it.
